The Wagendorf KUNTABUNT and the neigbouring  Wagendorf  BAMBULE were founded in 1991and 1992 respectively. Both collective´s first years were nomadic, as they  were forced from one piece of squatted land to the next. Eventually we found our present home, the shooting practise areal of a former fascist barracks and later of the french army. Initally squatted, the space is now legal, an agreement having been reached with the local town council.

There are about 60 adults and children living at the site, as well as guests, cows,  dogs, cats, rabbits  and some others...

We live in done-up wagons and trucks formerly owned by circuses and construction companies. We don´t very often make use of the mobility of our vehicles, except to maneouvre around the Wagendorf itself.

We also have a big shed, bar and sauna wagons,a stable, and a room made by strowbales and clay all of which  are communal.

We have a telephoneline, but no running water, and no centralised electricity generation or source.
We generate tour electricity by solar panels.

Within our group individuals retain as much freedom as possible.
The connection between members is formed less by formal structure than by the building of affinity and friendship.

As a collective we run meetings from time to time, the famous "Culture Days" once a year,  as well as a small collective fund. Anything beyond this is done by smaller groups within the broader collective, or just by interested individuals.

We are closely involved in the neighbouring town, and stay in  contact with other wagon places across Germany (of which there are more than 50, primarily in the northern part).

We have no real structures for guests. You are welcome to drop by, and space will, within reason, be made available. However those looking for some where to live in the long term ought to look elsewhere - we are, regrettably, full.
